ABSTRACT PAINTINGS
My artwork
displayed here showcases a body of work I created where the common denominators were size
(24"),
shape (square)
and theme (abstract
expressionistic landscapes).
In all of the art forms I love to use, photography,
painting or drawing, I have always enjoyed creating a
mood, telling a story and capturing the moment.

The
paintings here are truly imaginary creations that
tumbled onto my canvas without any preconceived
notion or theme. When I start out looking at a
blank canvas, I pick out the colors I feel like
that day and squirt them onto the canvas in
amounts that feel right and in areas of the canvas
that feel right.
Then
I pick up whatever implements I have at hand,
(sculpture tools, big brushes, squirt bottle of
water, pieces of cardboard that I cut into a
shapes, etc.) that feel right at the moment, as
well as my gloved hands, and I move the paint
around until the display starts to tell a story or
create a mood.
That's when I move the paint into the directions
it wants to go: sometimes pictorial, sometimes
not, until the moment is captured.
